Figment of Thought

"the the saddle will be just fine " he takes up the reigns he sits easily if a little further back than normal but its not so uncomfortable he give ivory a little nudge and he turns down the paddock "settled?"

"Woah! Oh it's really high. Um.. yes. I'm ok." She grips on tightly

"not the biggest horse out there but yeah he is a tall chap" he gives another turn of the paddock "so adventure...." he makes sure she is supported and picks up enough speed that he can clear the fence easily

She calls out in surprise but is excited nontheless. She laughs when they land and she holds onto the saddle. She bounces about a bit but doesn't fall out.

his arms keep her shielded anyway and he turns down the path not a full gallop but still enough to lift the hair

She is enjoying herself which he can tell from how she sits herself. She likes to watch as the ground moves beneath them.

he heads for the open pathways moving down and out of the city loving the feel of the air on his skin

"This is so much fun!" she comments as the world passes them by. There is a sense of freedom on horseback that you don't feel in a car or on a bus.

"yup it sure is.." he laughs softly

"How long have you been doing this for?" she asks him over her shoulder

"oh um....well i have been in the saddle as longs as i can remember but i got my first pony at about 5...although i could not really ride that one so well....more...sat on it while i was lead around"

She laughs. "Is it hard?" she asks.

"well.....not really? i dunno it comes naturally"

"May I try?" she asks

he nods "course..." he laughs "i will do my best to show you how and ivory does not mind"

She smiles petting the horse's neck. "Thank you. Please be patient with me Ivory."

he shakes his head and ewen laughs some more "you want to now? we can stop and i can get off"

She nods. "If it's ok."

he keeps going till there is some space and reigns ivory over letting himself down and helping her jiggle back into the saddle with a hand to her thigh, he takes the reign and holds it "hope it losely your not supposed to yank on it its as much so you can feel the horses natural movments as anything"he holds it to show her "like this.."

She lets him guide her hands trying to feel the weight of them and the horse as he says although Ivory isn't moving yet. "Ok.. Like this?"

"just like that" he adjusts the stirups and gets her feet into them "right you use your legs to signal intent as well so a light squeeze to say you want to go forward and just lift the reigns a light flick"

"Um... ok.." she sounds and squeezes a little bit not a bit frightened of moving. She hopes he doesn't bolt off.

it makes ewen laugh ivory seems to know anyway and takes a few steps forward before settleing to a slow walk that ewen keeps up with

She opens one eye followed by the other. "That.. wasn't so bad," she comments relaxing more now. She tries not to move about letting the horse saunter a bit and getting used to the movement without Ewen being in control of the reign.

ivory shakes his head a bit but ewen just keeps pace with them "not so bad huh?"
