Bogged down

She nods. "Ok. I guess it would not hurt if you needed to nap out here for a little while anyway." She looked back out to the grounds. "So what was this guy like that you stayed with? Did he have a family?"

"no...he was a university tutor...had lots of books and a dog...." he laughs at the thoughts "he used his spare time to go on digs....thats why he was there when they unearthed me..."

"I bet you where one hell of a homework project," she smirks.

"he might have gotten a bit excited" he laughs "but we had a good talk he helped with modern Welsh and then English..."

She raises an eyebrow at that. "You are new to the English language? I would not have guessed that."

"a couple of years yeh, he had all the lads talk in it...." he shrugs

She nods in an impressed expression. "Not bad, not bad at all."

"thanks....languages i seem to be good at.." he stares at the sky for a bit

"A good skill if you can refine it. There is a lot of money in translating," she comments in a rare compliment

"mm can you imagine my smelly backside at a big fancy meeting..." he gives her raised eyebrows

She laughs. "Perhaps you can hang air fresheners off of your ears. But I presume you can read the languages?"

"uh...readings not so advanced....." he looks away slightly embarresed

She smiles. "Oh? Is that the real reason you don't do so well on your school work?"

"uh....dunno maybe" he shrugs

"Hmm.. Well, practice makes perfect I suppose."

"yeah....." he if anything looks a bit embarrassed "theres just so much that supposedly important dunno where to even start"

"I think it is easier for those who actually know what they wish to do with their lives. You seem to have begun at a disadvantage there."

he makes a none commitle sound and looks distant

She turns her head and studies him for a time wondering if there is something he wants to do in life.

he just seems happy to rest there for now his eyes look sleepy and he stays not looking at her

She lets him rest. She still has questions but questions can wait. Later on she escorts him back down to his room and sees to her own needs. A number of rented films see to the rest of their evening and in the next few days she watches him as he makes a steady recovery. It is a relief to know it was only a bit of monster flu but it still makes her feel better than he came to be looked after properly rather than being laid in a small bedroom alone.

he is brighter anyway but he does seem to enjoy just having someone there to banter with he is a lively sort in general and risks life and other limb by being quite the tactile sort

It does not actually cross her mind that his personality blends rather nicely with her own. They can always find something to talk about - be it ripping into one another or someone else - and while he is from a much older time, her upbringing gives more familiarity to his than most of the other students in the school. Suffice to say, she actually finds that she is partly loathed to see him go when it does come to taking him back home a number of days later and she travels with him and Gan to his residence.

he isnt exactly shy but he does look awkward and invites them both in anyway looking at mel "i know your diying to see my hovel" he says it in humour but once inside no doubt she can believe it the chairs and table come with the place theres a bookshelf that seems to have some school supply on it but no decore at all besides a throw on the much used couch

She has to blink a few times. "When you had said bed of springs I had not quite believed it," she admits looking around.
