Big Blue Bear in the House

he gives a loud snort before turning into the flat more "neema...we have a guest..." his tones jovial enough

He can hear some covers rustling and a bit of light thumping about as she looks for clothes - actual clothes. She comes out of their bedroom somewhat timidly, uncertain of what's going on but having listened in having worked out it's someone Ann knows. She knows enough Orcish to work out a few bits and it sounds like she's family but she's not sure yet. "Hi," he greets the large female in her living room and Bashuk offers her a curt nod. "A pretty little thing to be sure. It will be interesting to know you." Neema nods at her. It sounded -? - like a polite-ish greeting? But she could be wrong. She glances at Ann to try and read from his expression but just responds with a nod. "Thanks."

Satisfied that their meeting has gone well Bash moves to the kitchen counter and drops a bag on the side there. It's custom back home to bring something useful to a host village like medicines, food or crafting supplies and Neema herself can smell flesh in that bag let alone her lover. She dreads to think where it has come from or what it is exactly since by the looks of it the female half-orc has neither money nor hunting permits for this area...

Ann just gives neema a soft look and a nod "I shall make refreshments..." he speaks in english for neema's sake

"Huh?" he sister responds instead looking to him quizzically. "Oh! American," she comments. Given how thick her accent is on just that one word, this might take some getting used to.

he moves over to get out some things to make a drink for them he does not bother to say they just got there as its evidently the case "are you here long?" he asks in orcish

She seems to think about it and then responds but does to in bad English - or 'American' as she knows it. It's enough to make sense of though. "No know," she tells them. "Will go when found what looking for."

he snorts and nods it makes sense to him at least

Neema just looks confused. It's strange to her how they can communicate without words it seems. "Um.. what are you looking for?" she asks. "A mate," Bashuk responds with a raised eyebrow. She looks bewildered that the other should need to ask - what else would she be looking for?

it gets a laugh "she ran out of males back home, but I don't know her chances here" he repeats it in orcish so she does not get left out either

Bashuk snorts with humor and thumps him hard on the arm. To Neema's eyes it doesn't look like she held back so much but she knows her brother's limits and minor marks are quick to heal even if he gets a few. "The last to ask for me was one of father's hunters. I agreed if he could best me in a hunting tournament. It was without challenge. So I came here to see what it has to offer in the city. You have done well enough it seems." She looks to Neema again and once again she's got the gist of the conversation. Enough to understand anyway. She nods.

he takes it well enough anyway and hums "maybe you will find a male with something else to offer....it has its challenges...and prizes"

"What are you looking for in one?" Neema asks coming to sit on one of the stools by the counter where the two are.
Bashuk seems to think on the words more than what she wants. "Strong. Take care of home and family. Protect young while I hunt or hunt well while I protect home." Those are things Neema understands at least but.. she has to wonder if perhaps the culture shock will hit her very hard very quickly here. She'll just have to wait a while and help as and when it comes she guesses... She looks to Ann wondering if he has any ideas.

he seems to be thinking things over "well...there are not many hunters here..and the battles come in a diffrent form" he speaks again in both tongues

She waves her hand as if to brush off his fussing and her worrying. "I learn. I become stronger," she states with confidence that borderlines arrogance. It's true that back home she has a lot of skill and genetic advantages. Both her races are physically powerful and born hunters. She doesn't have Ann's healing but she is thick skinned and surprisingly agile for her size. Few match her but as her brother warns, these skills aren't as likely to help her in a city so much as get her into trouble.

he nods again in agreement "good..." he says it simply and hands her a mug looking at neema there is worry deep in his eyes but he seems to have a level of trust "you want to stay here to start" its only half a question

"Why else to finding you," she answers knowing what response he expected to hear and she was always going to give him. Neema doesn't say anything. Of course she's never going to turn her out but she had rather hoped this evening would go differently..

he nods and looks to neema thinking much the same "there is space,for now anyway.."

"There's some leftovers in the fridge if you want them," Neema mentions to her moving off of her seat to go and put covers on the guest bed. Bashuk just nods and looks to Ann.

he is studying his drink looking thoughtful as was always the way with him really

"Is problem?" she asks him once Neema has disappeared into the guest room. She seems rather focused on using her English though even if she understands him better in Orcish

"Several ....maybe" he shrugs and snorts "always is with you" he gives her a smile anyway "I think it will sort out"

She scoffs and grins back at him. "Will be fine. Already found good hunting ground."

he shakes his head "all grounds takens no hunting grounds in the city or near....order of the elders here"

She stares at him blankly. "What?" is her eventual and blunt response. Surely he's joking.

he stares her down "you heard...no one hunts here, its a city...not back home...different rules.."
