Figment of Thought

He raises his hands in surrender. "I'm just saying. We'll check it out for you anyway. Just be sure to write down her details so we know what to look for."

he nods "I will hand it in on my way out..." he turns back and hurrys to the particular bed in question

The security guard just nods and watches him go. He makes to get back to his Sudoku and cookies leaving him to it. There sounds to be something worth note but if she's gone then there's no point looking for her right now.

Adrian is in the room when he gets back. He looks up when he enters the room. "Oh hi. I got my break so I came to check on you. Where've you been?"

ewen shakes his head "you wouldn't believe me if i told you old coffee and donuts didnt.." he comes over to check on the monitors"

"You went to security? What happened?? Did you see the person you where looking for again? Where are they?"

"i saw her alright her and a friend...but the camera saw nothing and she run faster than me.."

"How can that be? The cameras are meant to pick up anything," he frowns liking this less and less. He shivers. "I told you this room creeped me out."

he gives him a shove "think how he feels then" he thumbs in the direction of the bed "i just need to find out what they are....although they know i see them now...so..who knows"

"Maybe... You have scared them off for good?" he asks sounding hopeful. He frowns though. "ooh.. But then he should have woken up shouldn't he?...." He looks to ponder for a while. He hasn't a clue either.

"i dont know...its if they are the cause anyway and not just....something else" he shrugs "i wish i was on more night shifts.."

"Well.. I have one again in another two days... I can try and look around for you..." He sounds reluctant but he'll do it.

he nods "just...watch for moving doors and stuff round here ok?..." he sighs "no point you getting involved to much"

"What should I do if I see anyone? Or.. anything?" he asks.

"uh report it..note it down ..send me a text to..." he thinks hard on that one and its actually kinds tricky

"Is there a monster specialist somewhere who you could ask about this sort of thing?" he asks. He guesses it sounds kind of silly though since doctors generally do know most if not all monster types.

"well...i guess i could ask one of the professors....but still" he sighs

Adrian just places a hand on his shoulder. "You'll work it out don't worry."

"soon i hope...for his sake " he looks down "I am sorry its taking me so long to ..."

There is no response but it's nice to believe he has been heard.

The shift carries on pretty standard and in the following weeks he finds that the patterns seem to change. With him not there at night they seem fairly similar but with him there during the day they shift about depending on where he is. Security never seem to spot anything although they do get someone in to look at the hinges on the door. By the end of week two more and more people are starting to wonder more if Ewen has just overworked himself or if there is actually something to this. Adrian tries to be supportive but even he is having a hard time understanding why literally no one in the hospital can see this girl other than Ewen.

Melania takes time to come and visit him during that weekend. She is on a trip to America to visit friends she hasn't seen in a while and stops by to see how he is doing. "You do not look yourself," is the comment she makes one evening having watched him from the sofa for a good ten minutes.

he bounces his foot "yeah just...annoyed...best not talk about that though your here to tell me all the juciy gossip i have been missing...not my work worrys"

"True.. but.. I do not like seeing you upset you know that." She has to ponder for a moment. "Well.. gossip.. This year has been fairly boring actually. Blake will be staring school this September. He is very excited." ((Blake is her little brother who should be about 5 now))

he waves it off "really? wow time flys..lil ankle biter will be causeing all sorts of trouble...they thinking of english schools this time?" he still seems distracted

"I believe so. Father was persuaded to have him a private tutor as they did with the two of us but Mother and Aunt Bloodgood talked him in to giving public schools another try. After all, look how well I turned out." She grins leaving an obvious opening there for him - her little test of how bad he actually is right now

he gives her a look and shakes his head "and he agreed...wow..." theres not a huge amount of passion behind it though

Melania sighs and punches him in the shoulder. "Ok no. You don't miss openings like that and I did not fly all the way here just to be humoured by you. What is getting to you?"
