Fight or Flight

“I’m getting close...” a young girl spoke quietly to herself as she walked down the dark streets of the warehouse district. Since it was late at night there were no other people around to question the young school girl about why she was out alone in such a place. The small glowing light in her hand brightened and she stopped, moving her hand around to see which direction to go next.

A loud bang caused by a water pipe made her jump, “Aw man...” she took a deep breath, “Calm down, calm down... you’ll be fine.” She had only been doing this for a few weeks, but she was still getting used to it all. “Hunting witched alone is creepy...” she shuddered and carried on walking hoping to find her target soon and go home.

there was a rattle and then a clang followed by a loud thud "ow that wasn't the best entrance i have ever done" the green haired magi girl stood up and dusted herself down holding her soul gem up lighting the area

“Eek!” Naoko jumped when she heard the noise and was surprised to see the other girl. “T-that...” she looked at the item in her hand, “That’s a soul gem!” she exclaimed.

eve stood back holding it close to her "so your another I see" the girl looked kinda panicked to see her the only other magi she had come across fought her for the grief seed she had won fighting witches was one thing but fighting other magical girls was hard she stepped back "I haven't collected it yet you can have it" she waved her hands

Naoko tilted her head to one side, “Have what?” she looked confused, “Are you here hunting the witch too?” she smiled.

"the seed that is left" eve looked slightly confused "is that not why you hunt them"

“I hunt witches because it’s my job.” Naoko’s cheeks puffed up a little, “That’s what I agreed to when I made my wish.” She then smiled, “Getting a grief seed is good, but I don’t mind sharing.” She walked over and offered her hand, “My name is Naoko, it’s nice to meet you.”

"eve" she shook hands with her " I like your attitude" she smiled

"Lets do our best together." Naoko grinned and began walking down the ally again, "So are most other girls aggressive about getting grief seeds?" she asked.

"I have came across a few that didnt want to share to put it nicely" she shuddered walking along with her

Naoko pouted, “That’s just silly. With more of us around we can kill more witches, which means more grief seeds.” She huffed, “Some girls are so strange.”

"they really are its not like were gonna run out of them" she carried on looking ahead checking the brightness of her soul gem "it will be somewhere around here" she glanced around

“You’re right...” Naoko nodded and held up her soul gem, “This way!” she said and turned down to find a collapsed building wall. She looked closely and saw a mark appear on the stone slab, “I think I found it...”

"yes thats it! you gonna open it?" eve stood looking at the marking

“Okay.” Naoko held her soul gem out in front of her. The light brightened for a moment and the mark shifted, revealing a portal. “Ready?”
